- Joint meter reading of the participating consumer(s) shall be carried out on the same date, i.e., Generation Meter reading date.
- The energy generated from the solar plant shall be credited in the monthly electricity bills of each participating consumer(s) as per the ratio of procurement from solar plant indicated in the Power Purchase Agreement.
- Excess energy at the end of each billing month shall be purchased by the Distribution Licensee at 75% of the generic tariff applicable to ground-mounted / distributed solar PV projects, as determined by the Commission.
- Late Payment Surcharge shall be applicable for any late payments by the Distribution Licensee as per Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and Related Matters) Rules, 2022, as amended.
- Electricity consumption in any time block (peak/off-peak) shall first be compensated with electricity generation in the same block for ToD consumers, and in the normal block for Non-ToD consumers.
- Consumers may change the share of credit of electricity from the solar plant once at the beginning of the financial year by giving 2 months advance notice.
- Consumers opting for VNM shall install smart meters at their cost, both at generation and consumption points.
- VNM arrangement serves as an alternative to Open Access and is subject to applicable Open Access charges. However, exemptions may apply if energy generated and consumed is within the same distribution transformer/11kV feeder.
